The room was spacious and clean. I could tell it was recently renovated. The coffee from the food truck they have in their courtyard for breakfast was delicious. And to top it all off, the price was great.

The view from the 3rd level 2 bdrm apt is outstanding, and it is also gorgeous to look up at the moon and stars from the pool/jacuzzi area at night. It is so peaceful and tranquil if you need to revive yourself. We ate some delicious bananas from their fruit trees and enjoyed star gazing in the hot jacuzzi. The room was spacious and there is a standing fan in each room, which is all we needed to be cool and sleep soundly. It is a cute B&B type space that my 16 yr old daughter and I really enjoyed. Thai is also a perfect place to stay if you need to be close to the airport.

We loved the island. The ocean, the colorful flowers, shrubs and trees. We did an amazing all day tour to the coffee farm, the volcano national park, black sand beach, lava tube, water falls and valley. We also did an absolutely stunning tour of the Mauna Kea summit to watch the sunset, star gaze and telescope close ups of the moon, Jupiter and stars clusters. Our Manta Ray tour was cancelled due to bad sea conditions, which I appreciated very much their safety concerns over profits.
It’s a beautiful island with lots of sights to visit and things to do.

Huggo's On The Rocks and Foster's Kitchen were 2 of our favorite restaurants to dine at.
Manta Ray Adventures night snorkel was a blast!!!!
Historical harbour cruise was fun and informative.
Royal Kona luau (voyagers of the pacific) was terrible.
If you have a rental car, it is very easy to get around the island for a day trip.

The coffee was amazing, the food was great (although the restaurants were very crowded). Public parking was hard to come by and paid parking was very expensive. Get a rental car and you are in a good central location to hike, visit the volcano, and from all the shopping and touristy things to do.

First of all, this was not the room that was pictured on booking.com. I ended up in a tiny little corridor, claustrophobic, feeling room with a toilet that just kept running, and a lanai door that would not open. Clearly, this did not just happen it was like rusted shut and should never have been rented in such condition. I have reached out to the property I’ve reached out to booking.com. No one has called me or emailed me. I uploaded videos to prove what a mess this place was.

Paying to park anywhere near the waterfront was expensive.
Paying to park anywhere near the waterfront was expensive. There were a lot of what seemed to be homeless people on the waterfront as well. We actually rented a car and drove almost entirely around the island seeing as much as possible. We enjoyed having a beer at Da Shark Shack. Driving south we had a few scenic areas that gave information on the lava fields that was interesting. Many of the Shoreline Public Access areas either didn't have any where to park or the shoreline wasn't really user friendly

It’s a pretty spectacular place but I probably won’t return to this specific area in Hawaii. The downtown makes me sad. The number of homeless in the parks and on the streets was heart breaking. The downtown feels like it’s dying. There are a lot of shuttered stores or empty storefronts. It’s not an enjoyable place to shop or spend money.
All the people we met were very nice. We had excellent adventures on the water and in the volcano area.
I stayed at the Big Island Retreat while competing at the Ironman World Championship. What a stunning find, a perfect hotel for the race, close enough to Kailua-Kona to be accessible, far enough away to avoid the chaos. If you like older buildings, this is the place, so nice to stay in a room with real character
It wasn't cheap, but still great value compared to the crazy prices that other places charge. Big room, lovely veranda, excellent cooking facilities, great bed, plenty of parking
Everything good. Upgraded to ocean front west wing, well worth it. Beach perfect, easy, calm, good swimming, snorkelling. Chairs umbrella included can't beat that. Grandkids visited and room was still comfortable. Superb staff. we visit Hawaii frequently, family lives on Island, and this hotel was one of the best for comfort, value, location, location. Food was good at the bar. Highly recommend. Will stay again.
Loved this place. Hosts were very polite and nice, views were fantastic, and exactly what we needed. My wife and I accidentally booked our original hotel a night short than when our flight was so we needed a place to stay for the evening to shower and rest. This place is well worth the cost and with a beautiful living room view of the coat. If we are ever back in Hawaii we will definitely drop in here again.
The location of the hotel was perfect and directly in the heart of Kona City. A lot of restaurant 2-5 min walk. The garden was very nice. The resort offers a small but nice pool, a hottub and perfect working and clean gas BBQ grills for free use. The kitchen was well equipped and had a large fridge (wich had a few useful leftovers like souces and ketchup).
The bathroom was ok but not special.
I liked the breakfast. I liked the pool. I liked the lobby and common areas of the hotel. The history and museum vibe was nice. The shops at the hotel were nice too. Elevators were fast. The bell hops were good. The lady managing the restaurant was great. The pool towel service was good. The parking lot was good and the parking card was convenient. The air conditioning was good.
We have been staying for three weeks on Hawaii and among the places we stayed, this was clearly the best. Reasonable price, large and clean room. We stayed in the 2BR apartment and everything was provided, even small salt and pepper shaker, dishwasher and washer detergents (which was not always the case in other properties). We are more than happy to come again.
Good morning breakfast. Good size room. Pool and jacuzzi. Location was about a couple blocks from the tourist shopping area. Less than a mile (0.7mi) to the Royal Kona Hotel where they have a Luau. Best to walk there as you would have to pay for parking. A mile or two from a Target or Walmart if you needed essential items.
Very nice property on the shore. Our room faced the southwest so we were able to see the sunset and had constant soothing sounds of waves hitting the rocks directly below us. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is a short walk to the restaurants and shops in Kona. The bar and restaurant were also very good.
Great location, very nice resort, good facilities for a longer stay - fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, tumble dryer. There is a grill in the garden. Clean pools. The entire resort is well maintained and beautifully decorated, very nicely planted.
Nicely refurbished into a Boutique hotel, loved the details in the room. Feel good atmosphere makes you want to hang around. Well done!
Excellent location, free beach towels and chairs, coffee in the morning.
Location was excellent near Kailua-Kona. Host had many of the conveniences of home ready to go... clean dishes, soap, pans, toiletries, etc. There were also lots of beach items that we could use while there.
The room location within the Hotel Complex and the Hotel Complex location within the Kona township. The veranda overlooked the beach, and it was an easy walk into Kona for restaurants, pubs and shopping.
The location of the hotel was absolutely fantastic. Being just steps away from the beach provided us with breathtaking views and easy access to relaxing walks along the shoreline
Good location and convenient, well equipped in the room. Beautiful view of balcony for breakfast and relax. Room and hotel area are clean and beautiful, making vacation fantastic.
No breakfast offered. It's a nice, smaller hotel, conveniently located to town and a small beach. Wish there was a pool. Rooms are not cleaned or straightened during stay.
It was very good and had a kitchen with tools, at a cheaper rate than hotels near it. It is close to many destinations and has an exceptional view point towards the sea.
Great location, short walk to beach, shops and restaurants. staff are very accomodating . No resort fee was a bonus. Good sized pool which was never overcrowded .
